Aberdeen Alarm Company installed NFC access control with automatic alarm integration, enhancing security and reducing false alarms in a Glasgow office with seamless automation
Client: New Office Building
Location: Glasgow
Industry: Professional Services
Challenge: Streamlining access control and intruder alarm systems for enhanced security and ease of use.
Background
A new office building in Glasgow required a modern access control system that not only provided secure access but also simplified the management of their intruder alarm system. The client wanted to ensure that staff could enter and leave the building easily without having to manually set or unset the alarm system, reducing the risk of false alarms and improving security efficiency.
Solution
Aberdeen Alarm Company designed and installed an advanced access control system using NFC (Near Field Communication) credentials, allowing staff to enter the building with a simple tap of their smartphones or NFC-enabled access cards. The system was integrated with the building’s intruder alarm, automatically setting and unsetting the alarm based on occupancy levels.
When the first employee enters the building using their NFC credential, the system automatically disarms the intruder alarm. Similarly, when the last employee leaves and the building is empty, the system securely re-arms the intruder alarm. This integration ensures the building is always secure without requiring manual intervention from staff.

Outcome
The new access control system provided the client with a secure, efficient, and user-friendly solution. With the integration of NFC credentials and intruder alarm automation, staff could focus on their work without worrying about the building’s security.
